Informational Meeting for paid on-call firefighters set for 7 p.m., Monday, July 20
Register to attend the meeting and learn more about what it takes to become a paid on-call firefighter with the St. Anthony Fire Department. It is important to sign up so we are prepared to provide a space that allows for safe physical distancing. The event will take place at the fire station at 7 p.m., on Monday, July 20, at 3505 Silver Lake Rd. We will cover expectations, the hiring and training process, and time commitment. Fire Department Hiring Criteria & Process
To apply to become a paid on-call firefighter in St. Anthony, you must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess a valid Minnesota driver's license
Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent
Be within an 11-minute drive time from our fire station
The hiring process itself consists of a background check, an oral interview, a written exam, a physical evaluation, and a psychological assessment. Officers of the Department conduct the oral interview.
Upon being hired, all candidates will undergo training consisting of firefighting skills, hazmat, EMS, driving, and operation of fire apparatus.
