The City of St. Anthony has been recognized by the Minnesota Department of Commerce for its outstanding efforts in championing clean energy. To showcase St. Anthony’s accomplishments, the community will be featured in Commerce’s energy exhibit located in the Eco-Experience building at the Minnesota State Fair on Friday, August 23, 2019. Elected officials, city staff, and community members from St. Anthony will be traveling to the Fair to represent St. Anthony’s commitment to clean energy at the “Great Minnesota Get-Together.”

St. Anthony’s highlighted clean energy and sustainability projects include:

  • Energy efficiency improvements and LED lighting retrofits in city facilities.
  • Solar energy initiatives that include a solar ordinance for residential and commercial rooftop solar, community solar garden subscriptions, and SolSmart Silver Community designation.
  • “Sustainability Through Collaboration” initiative featuring a newly-redesigned complementary puzzle and interactive web-based story map that summarizes and tracks the growth of city programs. Both are used by the city as tools for strategic planning and public outreach when promoting past, present and future clean energy and sustainability projects.
