Water & Sewer Utilities

Responsibilities

The Utility Division is responsible for:

• 250,000-gallon water tower
• Lift stations
• Maintenance of approximately three square miles of sanitary sewer lines
• Three wells
• Water distribution system
• Water treatment plant

The water is tested daily by City personnel and weekly by the State Health Department.

Water Hardness

The City's water is 17 to 18 grains of hardness, but with a water softener it could be 11 to 12 grains hardness.
