ABOUT OUR CITY
Incorporated in 1945, the City of Saint Anthony Village is minutes away from both the downtowns of Minneapolis and St. Paul with easy access to major freeways in and around the city.
The City is a recipient of the League of Minnesota Cities “City of Excellence Award” and is proud to be a GreenStep City Level 5 (a voluntary program through the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency) and a Tree City USA.
CITY SERVICES AND DEPARTMENTS:
The St. Anthony Fire Department: 3505 Silver Lake Road | 612-782-3400
Our dedicated Fire Department averages a 2 minute 28second response rate, minimizing the loss of life, property, and environmental damage. The 24-hour fire and rescue team is staffed with full and paid-on-call professionals. Additional duties include code inspections/enforcement, fire prevention/public education and emergency management. For all emergencies call 911.
The St. Anthony Police Department: 3301 Silver Lake Road | 612-782-3350
Our Police Officers strive for safety through service, emphasizing crime prevention, problem solutions, safety measures for youth, community relationship-building, and increasing the quality of life for all Villagers. The 24-hour police protection also serves the Cities of Lauderdale and Falcon Heights. Duties include routine patrol, crime suppression, investigations, crime prevention/public education. The department offices at the east end of the City Hall/Community. For all emergencies call 911.
The Public Works Department delivers superior construction, operation and maintenance of the city’s infrastructure. From quality roads to clean water, the department strives for efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability. Public Works keeps our roads clear, our water running, our trees growing, our city-owned vehicles operating, and our buildings in top repair. For water or sewer emergencies call 612-782-3301 during regular business hours and 612-782-3400 after hours.
Administration: Saint Anthony Village is a Statutory B city with a 5-member City Council responsible for policy and legislative activity. The Council delegates administrative duties to the City Manager, including planning, human resources, elections, refuse/recycling, licensing, and economic development.
Finance: This department administers the city’s finance activities, including coordination and planning of financial information, utility billing, accounts payable/receivable, permits, inspections, payroll, insurance, grant administration, and the annual budget.

The City owns and operates two off-sale liquor stores; these stores fund large equipment purchases and reduce the tax burden on our local taxpayers.
